Sergey Bogaev

Founder and permanent leader of the band "Oblachny Krai". He was the sole author of the music and lyrics, guitarist, bassist, drummer, vocalist, and sound engineer all in one. He was born on December 22, 1961, in Arkhangelsk. In 1978, together with his neighbor Oleg Rautkin and the Lyskovsky brothers, Igor and Nikolai, he formed the band "Myortvye Ushi", which was renamed "Oblachny Krai" in 1982. Being an electrician by trade, he built his own homemade recording equipment and recorded all of the band's albums. In 1984, he moved to Leningrad at the invitation of Andrey Tropillo. He worked as a sound engineer at the "AnTrop" studio, and in 2007, he ranked among the top ten best sound engineers in St. Petersburg according to the Yury Morozov competition. He authored all 19 of the band's albums. He tragically passed away on June 2, 2011. He is buried at the Bogoslovskoye Cemetery in St. Petersburg.
