01 INTRO
Instrumental intro
02 OUR COMMON BITCH
It's no trouble that you have a bitch
Because we love each other
Which means your bitch is my bitch too!
Which means I am ready to come to you
As soon as the light goes out, my powerful silhouette
Flashes among the walls, among the closets.
Open the door for me, we'll kiss right from the threshold
I will greet your body
Let me recognize you, let my lips touch
Your fingers and the tips of your lovely nails.
At the intersection of interests, born in a struggle
Is the art of combining orifices.
You will gift yourself to me, and I gift to you
The universe from the center to the outskirts.
Give me the key to start, come on, don't be afraid - be braver!
We will rush to the stars together right now.
I will saddle Halley's Comet
You will saddle my beginning!
In the power of my strength, you cry out joyfully
Scream, but just don't lose your voice.
While we are building the bridge, she will take her post
Guarding the foundation of love.
Open the door for me, I'll fly in weightless
And greet your body.
And for the bitch, a special gift -
I brought some fresh bones for her
03 SUPERCHUKCHA
Hey, my deer, pick up the speed,
You and I are about to outrun time!
Hey, my deer, pick up the speed,
You and I will glorify our tribe!
We'll bare our chests to the winds of change!
We'll bare our chests to the winds of change!
Hey, my deer, do not pity the past -
Our lives will now be different.
We will race, rushing into the distance,
Boldly pushing back the horizons.
We'll bare our chests to the winds of change!
We'll bare our chests to the winds of change!
Hey, my deer, stop vegetating
Without theaters, without equipment.
We will boldly open the doors
Of the world's cultural treasuries.
We'll stick our heads
Under the powerful stream of progress!
Evil tongues, evil tongues
Compose anecdotes about me.
My tambourine sings, I will shut their mouths
I will make them slow down.
It's time to put everyone in their place!
It's time to put everyone in their place!
I will lead our dear little nation forward
On a course for social rehabilitation!
04 INTERGALACTIC CONGLOMERATE
All people are brothers.
All women are sisters.
Fields, peoples, fish, stars:
Everyone is kin to each other.
In the jungles of the cerebral cortex, in the depths,
Freaky dreams came to me.
Children of all galaxies reach their hands out to us!
The sober, all-seeing bulging eye,
Risking bursting, gazes upon us.
Children of all galaxies reach their hands out to us!
Children of all galaxies reach their hands out to us!
A handshake is a humane act.
We are not fans of interstellar brawls.
Children of all galaxies are bursting to make contact!
Children of all galaxies are bursting to make contact!
You and I will create, distant brother,
An Intergalactic Conglomerate.
We will create, my unknown brother,
An Intergalactic Conglomerate!
Different faces appear to me,
Dirty fingers, hair on the back.
Grumpy women scold in the morning.
Fish and reptiles spawn
05 MONSTER ATTACK ON A TWO-FINGERED INDIVIDUAL
You will stop smiling,
When he covers you.
And when you get tired of screaming,
He will carefully open your skull.
And he will get in feet first
Into your thoughts and hopes.
Shreds of bloodied clothes
Will fall to the ground.
Your kind, peace-loving mouth,
He will mutilate with his claws,
And your talkative tongue
He will nail to your forehead.
The fierce monster, the bloody monster
Mercilessly crawls on.
First the left, then the right
He bites off both fingers.
You were honest, you were pure
And did not use force.
You were a fierce pacifist,
But they bit off your symbol
06 SAD STORY
You grumble even paying the standard membership dues.
I am a Komsomol member, an activist.
You have a shaky ideological platform,
But I am a fighter, a propagandist.
We are so different, but
My soul is full of you.
Sad as it is, towards you
I have caught fire with love.
You drink wine as a result of dangerous delusions
In a circle of dubious friends.
In the light of timely, harsh decrees
I cannot put up with this.
We are so different, but
My soul is full of you.
Sad as it is, towards you
I have caught fire with love.
You are the epitome of vices,
And I am a moral standard.
You gained rich experience ahead of time,
I am a champion of abstinence.
You confess in love
A very dubious goal:
First - mutual affection,
Then - a shared bed.
I suffer, I struggle with myself, I don't sleep to the detriment of my health
And I begin to fade.
How can I simultaneously approach you with love,
Without betraying my convictions?
I want to have sex,
But compromise is unacceptable!
Because everything you live for,
I am absolutely intolerant of!
07 FROM BRAINS TO BRAINS
The fruits of the tree of knowledge are inexhaustible,
Because this tree grows under the sign of eternity.
For months and years we sit in the observatory,
The bowl of the telescope, like Lake Geneva.
This sacrifice was not in vain,
Unexpectedly and inadvertently we stumbled upon intercourse
The rising sun touched the upper floors
The frozen heads began to thaw.
We met messengers from the Moon,
We discussed common affairs.
The contact trail is widening
From one brain to other brains.
Distant girl - pale, moon-like.
You make the bed yourself, I trust you completely
Despite the network of interference,
There is a contact trail.
There is a contact trail,
Despite the network of interference
08 KOSTYA PERESTUPKIN
Kostya Perestupkin is a courteous man.
Kostya is very kind and responsive.
Kostya Perestupkin is a useful man.
Kostya is very sharp-eyed, never forgets.
He rolls back and forth
The egg of his head.
In the thick of all events
As always flashes
The face of Kostya Perestupkin.
Kostya Perestupkin breathes very evenly.
He doesn't drink, doesn't smoke, he is conscious.
Kostya sees a lot, Kostya hears a lot,
And in general, he is very observant.
He rolls back and forth
The egg of his head.
In the thick of all events
As always flashes
The face of Kostya Perestupkin.
Best friend is an address book.
Kostya never parts with it.
It is with him everywhere, without it not a step,
He always sleeps cuddling the book.
The rain passed, but drops from the roof
Kept knocking on the cornice.
Day and night Kostya hears perfectly,
Strictly following his motto:
"I'd rather knock too much than not knock enough!
I'd rather knock too much than not knock enough!
I'd rather knock too much than not knock enough!"
Over the earth silently glides
The shadow of his big ears
09 MOTHER OF ORDER
And the dawn seemed to already break,
But the Romanov dynasty clung to power.
And the people walked like gloomy clouds -
For a storm, he was not yet ripe.
And although everyone saw the prerequisites,
Not everyone could formulate them -
For a storm, he was not yet ripe.
On the granite balconies, the orators
Fence with their tongues like swords.
Different factions hold rallies,
But they will all come to victory together.
We will subject this fact to analysis
To find the truth -
After all, they will all come to victory together.
On the bridge, they strangled the police officer,
Took away his whistle and weapon,
And he lay there, a servant of the department,
And students spat on him.
They have no respect
Neither for the uniform, nor for the rank, nor for society;
And the students spat on him.
We will win universal equality,
We will fan a worldwide conflagration.
Farewell, Dostoevsky's Petersburg,
We will build other worlds.
We will win universal equality!
Interesting, but what could that mean?
We will build other worlds!
Squandered! It's already past midnight,
I propose to close the meeting,
It's too late to influence anything,
It's high time to dismiss the cabinet!
The sky grew anxious, frowned,
Sweated with crimson spots,
Vague contours emerged,
The stomp of bast shoes and boots is heard.
The stomp of bast shoes and boots is heard!
Bast shoes and boots...
And boots... and boots
10 STREMYA AND THE PEOPLE (IN 2 PARTS)
People and stirrups...
Stirrups and people...
Across the desert I sailed on a camel.
Night, the Milky Way spread like fog
And silence crawled across the sand dunes.
Enough, I'm tired, I won't overexert myself,
I'll let myself and the camel rest.
Looking at the sky, I lay in my sleeping bag,
I wanted to think about something global.
Our caravan moves towards the light,
Some see dreams, some count coins,
Someone frolics on top of a bride.
Who?! It doesn't matter, because the main thing is together.
The main thing is towards the light, and there, let come what may -
The sun will wake their corpses with a kiss.
A shared impulse cemented our chests!
People and stirrups...
Stirrups and people...
More accurate than any compass
The constellation indicator
Designated the East for us,
Our path lay there.
And from the mountains, from the cold peaks,
A stern and gloomy
Technical director
Secured the rear.
I am cheerful, I am carefree,
But for some reason snakes,
Having left their burrows,
Crawl, as if there is no one else to kill!?
We walked with a respectable look,
We walked at a worthy pace,
And some of the natives
Joined us on the way.
All members of the caravan -
Soulful partners,
And if someone falls behind,
The laggard will be caught and convinced.
We walked hard and long,
The camels began to grumble,
But suddenly the lookout
Bumped his forehead into an oasis and everyone shouted:
"HURRAY!!!"
Oblachny Krai - album "Stremya and the People"
In 1985, the band, consisting of Bogaev, Rautkin, Lyskovsky, and Guberman, recorded their most famous album, "Stremya and the People" (engineered by Andrey Tropillo), featuring the legendary saxophonist Mikhail "Uncle Misha" Chernov from DDT. This album is included in the "100 Best Magnetic Albums of Soviet Rock" collection. After this, Oblachny Krai began active touring. The band was supported in every possible way by Alexander Gradsky, who included the song "Kostya Perestupkin" from the 1985 album in the program of his show "45 Minutes in the Sunday Studio" on All-Union Radio. Alexander Gradsky called Oblachny Krai the only domestic rock band known to him that played genuine improvisational hard rock, which could be boldly placed on a par with the best examples of world rock music. He invited Oleg Rautkin to Moscow and personally taught him as a vocal instructor.
During the remastered reissue in 2008, at my request, after I had pestered him about it for a long time, Sergey played the lost "Intro" that we could never find the original recording of. When he brought me that disc, he handed it over with a smirk, saying that I was very meticulous... The original cover, drawn in the album's concept by Alexey Bulygin (Autodafe) in 1985, was completely restored by Sergey Supalov, since the originals were lost, and the images released on the 1996 CD were unusable due to poor printing. Seryozha Supalov took the trouble to redraw everything, and as a result, the design acquired its pristine appearance. (I. Plenov)
P.S. According to the memories of Mikhail Chernov, a famous jazz musician known to all rock music lovers in the country for his participation in the band DDT: Oblachny Krai was indeed a truly awesome rock band, and Sergey was an outstanding musician and songwriter. I was very glad to record with them on their album.
Sergey Bogaev planned to record the album "Stremya and the People" with the band in Leningrad, at the AnTrop studio, especially since Andrey Tropillo said that he would always be happy to help the band with this. Andrey considered the band a unique phenomenon in Soviet rock. He was genuinely восхищался by Bogaev's mastery, his innovative guitar style for hard rock, which was based on sound extraction techniques used when playing the sitar.
Initially, the album "Stremya and the People" was recorded by an incomplete lineup consisting of Bogaev and Lyskovsky. This was the band's first work to use professional instruments, kindly provided by Boris Grebenshchikov (guitar) and the musicians of the band "Strannie Igry" (keyboards). During the recording process, the band's vocalist Oleg Rautkin also joined from Arkhangelsk, whom Sergey used to call the band's visiting card. And Evgeny Guberman acted as the drummer, calling the period of his activity with Oblachny Krai one of the brightest moments in his life. Sergey Bogaev also recorded a minor part of the drum tracks, which he later reluctantly admitted in an interview.
When the album was finally recorded and began to spread rapidly across the country, two songs enjoyed the greatest success: the heavy-hitting track "Kostya Perestupkin" (a satirical song about a typical Soviet snitch) and the touching ballad "Sad Story" about the unhappy love of a Komsomol activist for a "loose" girl. No less attention was deserved by the song "Our Common Bitch", which, to driving guitar riffs, resonant bass runs, and Evgeny Guberman's powerful drum beating, vividly described the delights of carnal passion. Credit must also be given to the keyboardist Nikolai Lyskovsky, who very competently, without ever letting the keyboards take over, set the "flight" for all the themes on the album, just as he did on all the band's albums where he recorded. And finally, two final symphonic compositions, very organically created using the expressive means of heavy metal. Foremost is "Stremya and the People", which tells the story of the fate of a caravan moving through the desert towards an abstract, bright goal, as well as "Mother of Order" - an epic sketch dedicated to St. Petersburg during the first Russian revolution. Both compositions were musically resolved in the spirit of Mussorgsky's "Khovanshchina" and Shostakovich's "Heroic Symphony" - with dark, imagination-capturing riffs and Sergey Bogaev's virtuoso guitar parts, stylized after Blackmore, Wagner, and Beethoven simultaneously.
