Igor Plenov

Igor Plenov is a St Petersburg sound engineer and restorer of recordings who collected an archive of Russian rock, in particular the legacy of Rossiyane and Oblachny Kray. In 2004 he formed Plen Off g.r. + Metal M. with the keyboardist Mikhail "Metal M." Uspensky, and in the summer of 2006, thanks to Evgeny Guberman, he met Sergey Bogaev.

The acquaintance grew into joint work: the albums Tayny Mirozdaniya and Povrezhdyonnaya Realnost appeared in January–March 2007 and Filial Raya in April 2008, all under the name Plen Off g.r. + Metal M. / Oblachny Kray. In 2007 the title track of Povrezhdyonnaya Realnost made the top ten at the first sound engineers' contest named after Yury Morozov, and Plenov received a commemorative prize.

At the same time Plenov restored and mastered the band's old recordings: the credits of the reissues (on the AnTrop label) name him as restorer and mastering engineer in 2008–2010 and 2015, among them Svobody Zahoteli?, 1991, Kh-ya Samodeyatelnost and Ygyatta. He wrote the introductory texts for albums, answered fans on the official site and signed himself "director of the band". After Bogaev's death in June 2011 he went on working with Plen Off g.r. + Metal M., which had released more than nine albums by 2012.
