Andrey Petrovich Burlaka (4 November 1955, Krasnoyarsk – 19 July 2026, St Petersburg) was a music journalist, producer and historian of Leningrad rock. From 1984 to 1989 he ran the advertising and information department of the Leningrad Rock Club, in 1985–1990 he published the magazine RIO, and in 1989–1994 he was an editor at the Leningrad recording studio.
In that role he is credited as editor of Oblachny Kray's record Svobody Zahoteli? (recorded in 1990, released by Melodiya in 1991). In Melodiya's press release he described the songs as a dystopian cycle. Years later, inviting people to the Great Harmony festival in St Petersburg in memory of Bogaev, he called him a brilliant musician and said Oblachny Kray still sounded fresh.
Burlaka's main work is the three-volume Rock Encyclopedia of Popular Music in Leningrad-St Petersburg, 1965-2005 (2007). He was editor-in-chief of the Rock-n-roll.ru and St Petersburg Rock Club sites. He died of the consequences of a stroke and is buried at Krasnaya Gorka cemetery near Koltushi.
