Biography
Andrey Ilyichev was the bass player of the Arkhangelsk band Svyataya Luiza (with Vladimir Budnik, the leader of the band), an electrician by trade, and in Sergey Bogaev's words "a good friend of ours" and "a like-minded person".
Andrey Ilyichev was the bass player of the Arkhangelsk band Svyataya Luiza (with Vladimir Budnik, the leader of the band), an electrician by trade, and in Sergey Bogaev's words "a good friend of ours" and "a like-minded person". He also played in the jazz-rock band Blues-Inspector formed by the Stsena musicians Igor Koshkin and Konstantin Lapshin.
In 1987 Ilyichev was the bass player of Oblachny Kray: together with drummer Dmitry Leontyev he formed the rhythm section when the band first took the stage. Bogaev recalled that he had "always liked the way he plays" and that they rehearsed "all day long" before the first Arkhangelsk rock festival (the V rock festival, 28 February – 1 March 1987, Krasnaya Kuznitsa culture palace; according to Artemy Troitsky it was the band's first and most successful performance). On 25 April 1987 the band played in Moscow at an open listening session of the Melodiya company in the assembly hall of the Gramzapis experimental plant: Moskovsky Komsomolets of 15 May 1987 names, besides the three founders, "drummer Dmitry Leontyev (a locksmith by trade) and bass player Andrey Ilyichev (an electrician)" and notes that "the rhythm section did not let down the prestige of Arkhangelsk rock".
In Andrey Burlaka's article in "Rock Music in the USSR" Ilyichev is listed as the bass player of the 1987 line-up; later that year Andrey Lukin of Autodafe became the band's bass player and played with the group at the Podolsk festival.
Ilyichev did not record on Oblachny Kray's studio albums.
