The Secret Member
Wanted Freedom · 1990 · Track 1
July breathed the fragrance of sweet hay,
I fell to musing, gave my doubts free rein —
What lies beyond that blue chain of mountains?
Where does the river wind its crooked way?
Am I not a secret member?
Yes! A secret member of a wondrous brotherhood,
Where conscience is the highest wealth,
Where there is no place for cunning or betrayal.
Be a bit more active, my darling,
After all, we are not merely close friends.
We, as the common program decrees,
Must merge into a solid monolith.
And our union is unshakable, I am certain,
Reliable, verified by electronics,
It is subject neither to time nor death,
We fear neither angels nor devils.
July breathed the fragrance of sweet hay,
I press my cheek to the attic window.
Am I not a secret member?
Why don't you go... to meet the Sun!
