1980 - Made in Vaneeva 12-88
The second album by the band "Mertvye Ushi" (Dead Ears) — the first, still adolescent, project of the famous guitarist of Oblachny Krai, Sergei Bogayev.
This recording was made during numerous rehearsals and constant experimentation with sound recording. In this album, the style and sound of the future northern legend are already beginning to show. It features the first version of the composition "Voda" (Water), which was later included, in a new arrangement, on Oblachny Krai's debut album.
After discovering the rock opera "Jesus Christ Superstar," Sergei decided to experiment with this musical genre and, together with his friends, recorded a mini rock opera of his own composition, "The Appearance of the Wild Peach to the People." All of this was very childish and naive, but one must take the boys' age into account. At the time, Sergei was 18 years old, Oleg was 15, and Nikolai was 14. The lineup also included Nikolai's brother, Igor Lyskovsky (Sergei's age), who also wrote songs which they performed. Sergei Bogayev even hand-crafted the album artwork on the cassette tape box. Sergei Supalov digitized the recording from this tape, and essentially he is the only one who preserved this copy, as the original tape was soon lost. Until 2008, the album existed as a single copy in Sergei Supalov's possession and was never distributed anywhere. After audio restoration and remastering, based on the original artwork and with Sergei Bogayev's approval, the album was released in 2009 as part of the complete reissue campaign of Oblachny Krai's creative legacy.
